Growing the intercommunal tree of innovation and social entrepreneurship

ONLINE PANEL DISCUSSION

To overcome the hardships Cypriots are facing due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which has impacted people at all levels and took a hard toll on the island’s economy, the population is looking for hope and inspiration for a vision of a better future.

To assist in this vision, UNFICYP decided to focus on innovation and social entrepreneurship for an inclusive economy, with an emphasis on participation of youth and women. Intercommunal social entrepreneurship is an effective way to develop sustainable collaborations in communities with socioeconomic differences. It will also enhance interaction between the two communities to help them come closer.

UNFICYP, in collaboration with local organisations, aims to explore how young entrepreneurs from communities across the island can come together with innovative approaches for a better economic life in a socially and environmentally responsible manner.

The collaboration between the Center for Social Innovation, CyprusInno and NICO, has developed a series of activities, which will kick off with an online live panel discussion with established innovators and entrepreneurs from varying fields.

ONLINE PANEL DISCUSSION | Wednesday 2nd of June – 18:00-19:30 (Cyprus time)
